    • Just Carol punching shit. Wonder Man nowhere to be seen, he was all over this title in CWw? Also, why the random ending totally unrelated to SI? Didn't Carol get taken out by Fury in Mighty Avenegrs? Ugh, so badly all over, useless, no info, just punchy mcpunch punch.

    • It gives a little more background on Carol, and lets you see what she was doing during the Skrull invasion. It was fun, and definitely worth the read.

    • There have been two sightings of Ms. Marvel at the same time. At least one has to be a Skrull. This was really enjoyable. It started by threading pages from old comic books into the new book, which was ok. But then it quickly got on with Ms. Marvel trying to prove she is who she is and dealing with boyfriend and publicist problems. The artwork is very good in this volume. Some of the larger panels and full page works are excellent.Ms. Marvel fights against Skrulls, Ms. Marvel, members of SHIELD an [...]

    • I have been enjoying Brian Reed's run on this character, but this volume has problems. It reminded me of a DC movie, with a lot of deaths and a hero who not only doesn't mind killing, but seems to relish it. Sad.

    • Another enjoyable collection, this time with Carol having to prove she isn't a Skrull to her colleagues, but there's still some weird stuff going on with Machine Man - it's kind of creepy.

    • I really do adore Ms. Marvel, she's perhaps my favorite single Marvel character. And I REALLY like the flawed persona with anger issues that's clearly portrait in this volume. Even though Danvers ripples with power and ambition and ability she is quite able to get a handle on her life, and as a character in a book she shines best in those moments of struggle against herself.I liked the Secret Invasion story. But unlike many of the other big Marvel events I've liked the side stories from it WAYYY [...]

    • This volume thankfully has less of the awkward fanservice posing than the previous volumes. I don't recall any weird body angles or crotch shots with her uniform's too-high bikini line. There is, however, an "Oh, no, my costume is falling apart!" moment that makes me wrinkle my nose. They were so close to doing it right Other than the sexualizartion of Ms. Marvel, the art looks really good. Carol looks fantastic (despite her large breasts and tiny waistline being annoyingly distracting - okay ju [...]

    • Much more action in this one as Secret Invasion kicks off (which I had already read the main run of so I did know what was going on!). Lots of Skrull punching, and I do like it when Carol punches thing. Good to get a tiny bit of background on Agent Sum too. The mystery of William being a Kree or whatever still crawls along As does this boring romantic subplot with Wonder Man. I do wish Carol could be a bit smarter. And make less questionable decisions. Her flaws make her interesting but I'm gett [...]

    • If I was rating this on Brian Reed's dialogue and plotting alone this would be a five star. This is a tie-in to a mega-crossover-event done right. Things are happening but this story is all about Carol and could have easily been one of her story lines without the event (granted there would be more explanation here if it wasn't tied in to the event). Carol is a bad-ass here. She is an and revels in the fight. I think this volume is really where I fell in love with Ms. Marvel. She is flawed and h [...]

    • I've seen Ms. Marvel frequently in the pages of Avengers. Her skill/power level is not always utilized to her potential surrounded by the other A-list characters on the team. The overall story here was fairly well put together. What I really enjoyed was finally seeing Carol unleashing her full battlefield potential against the invading Skrull army. There is still some squeamishness about showing super-heroes use their power to kill. But when an invading army drops from the skies and starting kil [...]

    • I'm having a hard time connecting with characters and caring for the story. I don't remember what happened and I'm not interested to find out. I'm giving up in Brian Reed, I don't like his stories at all. The plot is always all over the place and I'm tired of not having more female characters. Also, I'm very tired of the sexualization of Ms. Marvel. I only wanted to read this series so I wouldn't be confused reading Captain Marvel, Volume 1: In Pursuit of Flight, but right now I don't mind the c [...]

    • I've come to really dislike massive, cross-title crossovers as a genre; this one was fun because it mostly sidesteps that to tell a story focusing on Carol, rather than telling a story about a Skrull invasion that Carol just happens to be present for. Reed's version of the character is strong, principled, and unafraid to kick ass. She's a fun character to read about. The one thing that took away from this was the art. I knew what I was getting in for (Greg Horn on covers with some dude from Witch [...]

    • Because I lack a history of reading Marvel comics, I struggled with the history and abilities of the Skrulls. And, since it's been so long since I read the first three volumes of Ms. Marvel, I couldn't remember who William was! It came together in the end and I like the use of old style comics at the beginning but I just couldn't get into it as much as other volumes in the series.

    • I've always had a soft spot for Ms Marvel. This volume shows both her strengths and weaknesses. When written well, she can have insecurities like everybody else, this time there are many skrull versions of herself to make Ms Marvel's life difficult. It is a joy to see her accept her role as a soldier in a war, and it shows how powerful this character can be when given the right storyline.

    • It gave the back story of Ms. Marvel right along side of the current story. It was much appreciated since I only had a cursory understanding of her character. The writers did a great job of making her witty and accessible. She is not trapped in the 1970's world she was created in. I am excited her continuing saga.

    • Ms. Marvel redeemed herself in this volume after the Civil War, she was gonna be replaced by she saved herself by finding it out quickly, then she took on countless Skrulls by herself in the battle at New York City. But the ending was so random, it really ruined this volume.

    • Didn't enjoy this as much as the first four volumes, felt slightly clunky, also didn't enjoy the art work as much in this volume.

    • This was a bit up and down. A few too many extremely long fight sequences, which always bore me, and I don't like Melo's art as much as some of the other Ms Marvel artists'.

    • I'm less for the big "BANG! BOOM! PUNCH!" issues. Though I did like to see Carol reigning over the skrulls like the champion she is.
